Apply in person in Spain at a Polic\u00eda Nacional foreigners\u2019 office, apply at the Spanish consulate in your country of residence, or have a lawyer apply on your behalf under a power of attorney. The paperwork is the EX-15 application plus the corresponding fee form; your lawyer will confirm the current version and amount.<\/p>\n<div class=\"note\">Appointment availability is the real constraint, not the process. In high-demand provinces slots can be weeks out, and consular waiting times vary widely by country. For a buyer living abroad it removes the need to be physically present at completion.<\/p>\n<p>It can be granted before a Spanish notary while you are in Spain. Abroad, it may also be granted before a Spanish consular officer, or before a local notary with the apostille or legalisation and translation required for use in Spain. The correct route depends on the country and document format, so the Spanish lawyer who will use the power should approve the wording first.<\/p>\n<p>The power should be drafted narrowly, limited to the transaction in question.
